Steel Welding Readiness Assessment

Know where your technician stands — before test day.

The I-CAR steel welding test doesn't have to be a surprise. The Collision ProAssist Steel Welding Readiness Assessment gives your technician, and you, an honest, expert look at where they stand across every weld type they'll face on test day, all without anyone leaving their shop.

How it works:
We ship a headset and phone stand to your shop ahead of the session. Your technician sets up at their welding station, I connect remotely, and we get straight to work. No warm-up lap, no shop walkthrough - just welding.

Together, we work through all 10 joint configurations that mirror the I-CAR steel welding test: vertical and overhead positions, thin and thick material, fillet welds, plug welds, butt joints with backings, and open butt joints. I observe every weld live, just like I'm standing right next to them.

The moment we're done, a detailed weld-by-weld report is sent to both the technician and their supervisor. Everyone is on the same page before the day is over.

Focused. Efficient. Non-disruptive.

Because the session is 100% remote, your technician gets one-on-one attention while the rest of the shop keeps moving. Most of the time, other technicians don't even know a session is happening. There's no disruption to your production floor, just a better-prepared welder.

Who it's for:
The Welding Readiness Assessment is designed for technicians who already weld and want to sharpen their skills before taking the I-CAR steel welding test. This assessment gives them targeted, actionable feedback from someone who knows exactly what the test requires.

Available to shops across the United States and Canada.

This is an independent pre-test readiness assessment and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a substitute for any I-CAR program or testing requirement.
